During the accumulation phase, the death benefit is equal to the contract value as of the date we receive proof of death and an election of the payment method and is payable to the surviving owner as primary beneficiary, or if there is no joint owner, the death benefit will be paid to the beneficiary designated by the owner. During the income payout phase, any benefit payable will depend upon the payout option selected. There are no surrender charges or MVA assessed on the death benefit.

Before the end of the contract term, you'll have a 30-day window where you'll be able to withdraw the money invested, reinvest it in another fixed annuity, or turn it into guaranteed income via annuitization. If you do nothing, your contract will automatically default into a 1-year guarantee period without surrender charge or MVA. If the contract matures before you turn 59½, withdrawals (other than rollover to an IRA) will be charged a 10% penalty by the IRS.

Should you pass away before the end of your contract, the accumulated value of the annuity, including interest, will be passed to your beneficiary without any charges or fees.

At the end of the contract term, you'll be able to withdraw the money invested, reinvest it in another fixed annuity, or turn it into guaranteed income via annuitization. You have 30 days from maturity date to make a selection. If you do nothing, contract will be renewed for a one-year term with a 1.50% effective rate, regardless of current market rates. Any withdrawals made before you turn 59 1/2 (other than rollovers to an IRA) will be charged a 10% penalty by the IRS.

MassMutual's immediate annuity is called "MassMutual RetireEase." It is available at premium levels of $10,000 or more with income starting 0 to 12 months from purchase. It can be purchased as single or joint life with or without the Refund at Death, Period Certain, or Inflation Adjustment options. MassMutual also has a longevity annuity called “MassMutual RetireEase Choice.” Their annuities are priced to provide the same income payout rates regardless of premium level.

Maximum premium is $1.5 million for ages 76 and older

MassMutual's longevity annuity is called "MassMutual RetireEase Choice." It is available at initial premium levels of $10,000 or more with the ability to add more money at $500+ increments. Income can start 13 months to 30 years from purchase. It can be purchased as single or joint life with or without the Refund at Death, Period Certain, or Inflation Adjustment options and is QLAC-compliant. MassMutual also has an immediate annuity called “MassMutual RetireEase.” Their annuities are priced to provide the same income payout rates regardless of premium level.

Minimum issue age for QLAC is 41. Maximum issue age for traditional and SEP IRA is 69. Maximum issue age for QLAC is 83.
