In the event of your passing during the term of your Wichita Life Security 5 MYGA annuity, as the sole owner, your beneficiary(ies) will receive a death benefit. This benefit is equivalent to the annuity's Surrender Value, which is the total of your initial premium plus accrued interest, reduced by any amounts deducted for partial surrenders, Market Value Adjustment (MVA), and surrender charges. Beneficiaries have the choice of receiving this death benefit either as a lump sum or through one of the available payment options.

Before the end of the contract term, you'll have a 30-day window where you'll be able to withdraw the money invested, reinvest it in another fixed annuity, or turn it into guaranteed income via annuitization. If you do nothing, your contract will be renewed for another period of the same term with the rate effective at the time. If the contract matures before you turn 59½, withdrawals (other than rollover to an IRA) will be charged a 10% penalty by the IRS.

Should you pass away before the end of your contract, the accumulated value of the annuity, including interest, will be passed to your beneficiary without any charges or fees.
